For my profile essay I will be interviewing my friends dad who just returned from the Iraq war; his name is Johnathan Osborne. I'm hopefully going to learn how it affected him, what he went through, what his job was, things of that nature. It seems to me that it will be very interesting to learn about his career in the army, I'm looking forward to it.
This is a good idea- and definitely a human interest piece. The thing to remmeber is that you are dealing with a human interviewee who could very well not want to reveal as much as you hope. Just remember to not be completely tied to a plan and see where it all goes.
