Book Blog 7

I just finished reading the book and it was amazing. The writing was fantastic and it kept my attention the whole time, I just kept wanting to read. He opened my eyes to so many new things that I didn't know about and how both the Americans and Iraqis act. I can't decide whether or not to be on the side continuing to help or telling them to back out. Its just too chaotic and corrupt.

Book Blog 6

The book has begun to get more political and personal from what I've continued to read. He begins to state hiss connections with some marines and some events that became his fault. Also he attends many political meetings or gatherings where he hears a lot of different views. It's really strange and horrible what takes place in such a country and I really can't believe he lived their for so many years.

Book Blog 5

Based off of the chapters I have read lately it seems that all the means we do to help the Iraqis with their politics gets blown up in our face and we then have to retaliate to make them calm down and suspend attacks. So we try to implement rule but it just gets overturned within a month. Also it's crazy how these people can just give their lives away as suicide bombers and believe that its for the greater good. It stated that over 900 people died from a bomb suicide in 2005 alone. Another eye opener for me was when he was jogging and he just stood there to witness the smoke rising. He was able to just walk it off and continue his run as if it was an every day occurrence, which it actually seems to be.

Book Blog 4

Well I haven't had the time to really read that much farther in to my book but its still really keeping my attention. New eye opening events keep occurring that make me think a different view and its astonishing! This book is really, really on it's way to possibly becoming one of my favorite reads.

Book Blog 3

After reading this section of The Forever War what I kept thinking about was how the people who lived in the villages that the American's took over from the Taliban and such were either happy or completely hated them. Dexter seemed to have mixed views where ever he went. Some people would thank him or talk to him freely while others would spit on him or completely avoid him. The whole view I'm seeing from reading this book so far is really sort of confusing me about how people view the war and care about our help.

Book Blog 2

After reading farther in to my book it seems that Dexter seems to be very intrigued and sort of confused about what he witnesses and goes through. The way he words sentences makes you think whether or not he agrees with whats going on in Iraq/ Afghanistan. It also completely surprises me with how the people act or live there. Still the most shocking thing I've read has been boys running through a mine field because "it would've been too long to go around".

Book Blog 1

From what I have read so far The Forever War is a fantastic book. It has kept my attention none stop and all the stories he tells are really interesting and make you think about how different things are in that part of the world. How they have no problem with murdering their own kind as long as its following what God has written or done. Their views on things are so different which makes his stories so stimulating.
